The mum of Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed why he was pictured in tears — because his beloved uncle is dying.

Dolores Aveiro said Ronaldo — who wept at Portugal’s Lisbon airport four days ago — had learned Jose has lung disease.

Ronaldo lost his dad to a chronic liver condition in 2005. Dolores said: “Maybe my son remembered his father, to whom he is still very attached.

“Cristiano came with me to Lisbon on Monday.

“My brother Jose is very sick. He has problems in the lungs because he smokes a lot.

“My son also cried a lot after the game against Chelsea because he lost the FA Cup.”
