Cristiano Ronaldo picked up the FIFA Puskas Award this evening at the FIFA World Player Gala 2009 for scoring the best goal of the year. The Madridista beat out goals by the likes of Fernando Torres (Liverpool), Andres Iniesta (FC Barcelona), Michael Essien (Chelsea) and Grafite (Wolsburg).
The award was presented by George Weah and the widow of the late Ferenc Puskas. The goal that earned Cristiano Ronaldo the hardware was that scored with Manchester United against Porto in the 2009 Champions League quarterfinal. Read more...
