Cristiano Ronaldo kicked a ball yesterday in training and is now expected to step up his return from an ankle injury that has seen him miss over a month and a half of football forReal Madrid.
The world’s most expensive player reported no ill effects after a light work out with the ball yesterday and could now return in next weekend’s clash with Racing Santander at the Bernabeu.
Real Madrid officials hope to give Ronaldo a twenty-minute run out against Santander next Sunday followed by a longer appearance against FC Zurich in the Champions League.
If Ronaldo gets around 100 minutes of action under his belt in these two matches, it is expected that he will be ready for the mouth watering clash with Barcelona at the end of the month.
Ronaldo is now slightly ahead of schedule in his return and is expected to train with his team mates tomorrow.
